The Dental Shaman Accessibility Statement
Last updated 24/06/25
Our commitment
We believe everyone should access our website and services, regardless of ability. To that end, we strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we’re doing
-
Alt text for images: All images—product photos, blog visuals, event banners—have meaningful alternative text for screen readers.
-
Keyboard navigation: Users can navigate menus, forms (e.g., contact, signup), and media controls using the Tab, Enter, and arrow keys.
-
ARIA landmarks & labels: Important elements like navigation menus, forms, buttons, and videos include ARIA roles and labels.
-
Video captions: All podcasts and videos—such as “Episode 25: Dr Marc Mortiboys” and video introductions—are captioned.
-
High contrast & text resizing: Colour contrast meets accessibility standards; users can increase text size using browser settings.
-
Focus indicators: Interactive elements show clear outlines or highlighting when focused, aiding clarity for keyboard users.
Known limitations
We aim for full accessibility but acknowledge that some custom-designed elements (e.g. crystal sound activation modules, shop widgets) may not yet fully meet accessibility best practices. We are working on enhancements and code-level fixes.
Feedback & assistance
If you encounter issues—such as missing alt text, unreadable content, or navigation problems—please get in touch. We’ll respond promptly and offer accessible alternatives (email, phone, or mailed materials).

We review accessibility feedback weekly and update this statement regularly. Users who rely on assistive technologies are invited to share their experiences and requests.
Future enhancements
We plan to integrate an optional accessibility toolbar (e.g. text resizing, contrast toggling) by late 2025, aligning with emerging best practices in dental and holistic care websites .
Why this matters
Accessibility in healthcare is not just beneficial—it’s often legally required. Dental practices have faced accessibility-related legal challenges under ADA in the U.S.
agd.org+4cda.org+4americandentalmarketing.com+4. Although based in the UK, we hold ourselves to WCAG standards to provide fair access and reduce barriers to spiritual and dental wellness for all.
